On July 4, 2015, the first annual Dash to the Door, a 5K/3-mile Fun Run/Walk, was held to raise funds for the Beersheba Springs Medical Clinic. Over 100 runners and walkers gathered for the trip to the Great Stone Door entrance and back. There was a great festive atmosphere to the whole event and between race registrations and additional donations, close to $15,000 was raised. Thanks to everyone who participated! Thanks also to the people and organizations who sponsored the run.
A large crowd of participants gathered, in spite of the possibility of rain.
Cress Whitfield gave an overview of the race details.
Then everyone headed off for the starting line.
People eagerly awaited the start of the race.
See this page for an animated gif of the race start.
All was ready at the finish line, just waiting for the finishers.
And there wasn’t long to wait!
For a much larger gallery of finishers, please check back.
Afterward, everyone moved back up to the clinic for the presentation of awards.
Beautiful award “Medals” were donated by Phil Mayhew.
Below are pictures of winners in each category.
Thanks to everyone who made this event such a great success! And thanks to Isabel Chenoweth for the fantastic pictures!
